DYK -What’s the difference between a speed hump and a speed bump

DYK -What’s the difference between a speed hump and a speed bump? Well, everything! A speed bump is between 4-6 inches in height and used to slow motorists down to 5 mph; usually used in parking lots and complexes.

Speed humps are 3-4 inches in height and are used to slow motorists down to 15-20 mph in a residential area.

Our NTMP program only allows speed humps at this time, but they also offer other solutions to slow down traffic including traffic circles, traffic islands, and a few more!
